DO NO HARM “SURTOUT NE PAS NUIRE” was the main topic of a three days’ training which was held at EYE’s office. The participants learned about conflicts and its causes, peace in general as well as about journalism and its objectives in the domain of Do No Harm.
Participants were explained how the journalism is an important thing in society and they were shown how they can professionalize their work according to the approach of DO NO HARM. “You have to go down on the field and talk with every person you meet. Reach in every possible angle related to the issue in order to receive all details and enough information.” said the trainer Carole Sambale-Tannert from ZFD RWANDA. And she continued, mentioning that journalists have to work as a team, discuss among themselves and share ideas to prepare a good analysis.
The trainer tried to explain every single point while their own ideas and practical exercises were the strategy used by her to make everyone understands the points. “It was an interesting topic because it will help us to be more professional in our domain, we have to use everything we have learnt to help the society we work for.”, said one the participants.
